Pinus densiflora 'Golden Ghost'

This is the tree that illustrates just how different “evergreens” can be.

‘Golden Ghost’ is a “dragon eye” Japanese red pine. The term “dragon eye” refers to the electric white to yellow banding on each needle. If you look at a cluster of needles with next year’s growth bud in the center, the white bands create a circle pattern contrasting the green of the needle to create an image that could be imagined as a dragon’s eye.

‘Golden Ghost’ is one of the most outstanding of all the “dragon eye” pines with banding that is glowing gold. When the sun hits this tree, it illuminates like thousands of candles glowing in the garden.

Used as a pyramidal-shaped focal point in your garden, ‘Golden Ghost’ will create a silhouette of gold that will become your favorite ghost in your garden.
