Juniperus scopulorum 'Candelabra'

With all the great plants available for our gardens it can be easy to over look a species. And junipers would be a good example of plants used in many landscapes but never able to shine amongst so many other garden stars. ‘Candelabra’ will shine right along side even the brightest garden stars.

A rocky mountain juniper, with branches that cascade down but reach back upwards at the tip. The form creates images of both elegant candelabra and chandeliers.

The form is only matched by the silvery blue of the foliage. Even from a distance, this tree’s color is noticed by visitors to the garden.

In its native habitat, rocky mountain junipers survive with only 10 inches of rainfall a year. This makes ‘Candelabra’ a garden light that will shine even in difficult conditions.
